Bookkeeper/administrator required for corporate art consultancy The Art Movement.

The Art Movement is an art consultancy based in Ashurst, close to Southampton. We provide art to corporate clients all over the UK and we’re on a mission to enhance employee wellbeing and support artists in developing sustainable careers.
We’re a friendly team who are passionate about art, supporting artists and creating incredible experiences for our clients. Little Van Gogh is a network which exhibits artists work in offices and changes the art throughout Europe at regular intervals. We run the UK part of this network. We also manage artist mentoring schemes, manage corporate art collections and offer online art classes amongst other things.
The role…
At the present time we are seeking to recruit a bookkeeper/administrator to help with some of the financial and administrative functions of our growing business.
This person will be tasked with:
- Taking over an existing set of books on Xero
- Inputting all financial transactions and reconciling
- Running payroll
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Preparing a trial balance at year end
- Preparing all sales invoices
- Chasing payments where necessary
You will be an integral part of a friendly small team of art professionals, helping with a financial view on strategic and operational discussions.
We would expect the successful candidate to have the following attributes or qualifications:
- Detailed knowledge of Xero
- An understanding of basic accounting
- Knowledge of both AP and AR
- A good understanding of business in general
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and notably Excel
- Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers or better
The position is based at our Ashurst office, which is in the beautiful New Forest.
The position is offered as a permanent part-time role. The working hours to be 1 day per week with a possibility of overtime either in the office or from home.
